Personal Care

The purpose of personal care services is to provide quality care to clients in the familiar

surroundings of their own homes.

There are times when a person needs some assistance in the daily mechanics of life:

preparing meals, getting dressed, cleaning, shopping, and bathing are all examples of

personal care services.

Personal Care Aides or Companions are trained to help give the support necessary for the

clients and their families.  Our professional staff of Registered Nurses work closely with the

clients and their families to maintain a comfortable and healthy environment.

Services:

Personal Care Aides

Perform basic health-related services, such as helping with ambulation/exercises, assisting

with self-administered medications, reporting changes in the client's condition and needs, or

providing household services essential to healthy living in the home.

24-Hour Companions

May be one person who "lives in" or two or three people who together provide the care or

services needed in shifts.

Respite Care

Temporary but periodic or routine relief for the primary caregiver.

Private Duty

May be a companion, personal care aide, or nurse.

Eligibility:

Individuals who already have Medicaid should request a screening for Long-Term Personal

Care Services from the Department of Social Services in the county in which they live.  This

request can take considerable time to be processed, so make requests as soon as the need for

services is determined.

Individuals who do not have Medicaid but believe they would qualify should go to the

Department of Social Services in the county in which they live to complete the application.

Individuals who have private insurance should check with their insurance companies to find

out if personal care services are provided under their plans.

Billing and Payment:

Home care is an affordable method of health care.  Individuals may qualify for services through

Medicaid or private insurance companies.  We will work with those who do not have insurance

to design a Private Pay Plan.  Home Care is personal, professional, and affordable.  Please

contact us for more information.
